An oversized large women’s stole made of natural materials. The blend of Merino wool and silk is exceptionally soft and pleasant to wear during the coldest winter days. This color scheme of lavanders flowers over a red brick background is timeless and luminous, and will last for a long time.
INSPIRATION

We conceived this design based on the Aubusson tapestries, which date back six centuries: beginning with their introduction of “verdures” (stylized foliage and vignettes of plants) in the 15th century, then their prestige as Royal Manufacturers in 1665, followed by a renewed flourishing of the style at the beginning of the 20th century, then a crisis in the inter-war period, and its rebirth as a technique thanks to renowned artist Jean Lurçat’s arrival in the town of Aubusson and his concerted efforts to keep the tradition alive. UNESCO inscribed Aubusson tapestry weaving on its list of world immaterial cultural heritage in 2009, after which the craft was inscribed in France’s own list of immaterial cultural heritage. Based on these old French motifs and techniques, we modernized the design by adding polka dots to the weave. The large flowers are within the timeless tradition of Aubusson tapestry making.

OUTFIT PAIRING IDEAS

With this timeless floral design paired with a red brick and lavanders color scheme, you can accessorize almost any of your winter outfits for a chic and classic look. You can go for a more urban look by pairing it with a marine blue overcoat, a chestnut blouse, or a beige parka. Ideal for everyday use.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

To wash a wool stole, we advise washing by hand. Do not let it soak for too long, and wring it out in a towel without twisting it. Lay it flat to dry. To iron, use a high setting with the vapor function to maintain the natural volume and softness of the natural materials that make up the scarf. While you cannot put it in the dryer, you may take it in for dry cleaning.

TRADITIONALLY MADE

The Jacquard method used to make this scarf is a weaving method developed by Lyon-native Joseph Marie Jacquard in 1801, who created the first mechanical system that could be programmed with perforated cards to create a design. Thanks to technological advancements over time, our looms are now electronically controlled via very efficient software that allows the scarf to be produced quicker and with a higher level of quality than before. We created this scarf in the purest tradition of Jacquard weaving, resulting in a perfect product thanks to our savoir-faire passed down from generation to generation since 1880. This scarf is woven with a black silk warp. The ends of the scarf are comprised of discrete 2cm long fringes, which bring out all the string colors used in making the scarf. With its hem along the length of the scarf, the finish is truly remarkable.
