A beautiful women’s scarf made with a perfect blend of natural Merino wool and silk. The comfort of the Merino wool and the softness of the silk make for a very gentle fabric and a warm feeling around the neck. The layered hues of red combined with a discrete cashmere palm motif give this luxurious scarf a timeless sense of style. The ends are finished with small 2-3 cm fringes. 100% Made in France.
INSPIRATION

This piece was inspired by a woven textile produced by the Ronze and Vachon fashion house in 1867. It was produced here in Lyon, and presented at the World’s Fair in Paris, also in 1867. The design is very typical of the old Lyon Silk tradition. The motif of a background of palms and cashmere is tastefully interrupted by twelve bands of different hues of red and bordeaux.

OUTFIT PAIRING IDEAS

This luxurious scarf in various shades of red can help to highlight your look to make for a more chic and yet relaxed style. Perfect with jeans, black or marine blue coats, grey or off-white blouses, more formal dresses for a night out, this scarf is a must-have for your wardrobe.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

To swash a wool scarf, we advise washing by hand. Do not let it soak for too long. To dry, put the scarf in a cotton towel to soak up the excess water, but do not wring it out or twist it. Then lay the scarf flat to dry. You can restore the scarf’s softness and delicate touch by ironing on high heat with the vapor function. While putting it in the dryer is absolutely out of the question, you can take it in for dry cleaning instead.

TRADITIONALLY MADE

The weaving method used to make this scarf, known as the Jacquard method, involves the interweaving of a silk warp thread with a Merino wool weft thread, using a specific pattern. In order to do this, the Fabrique d’Écharpe weaving atelier uses Jacquard looms. The Jacquard loom was developed by Lyon-native Joseph Marie Jacquard in 1801, who created the first mechanical system that could be programmed with perforated cards to create a design by interweaving different colored threads. Thanks to the artisan weaving knowledge transmitted to us from generation to generation since 1880, today we have electronically controlled looms that allow for the scarf to be produced with impeccable quality all while respecting the purest methods of traditional Lyon Jacquard weaving.
