A very warm yet very silky blended wool scarf to face the winter cold and protect even those who are most sensitive to chilly weather. Ideal for spending time in the mountains or winter sports, this scarf red and blue on black background is perfect for adding a bit of life to your winter look. This beautiful scarf has large, 2.5 inch long colored fringes at the ends. Both long and thick, this scarf can be worn by both men and women.
INSPIRATION

Inspired by the Alpine countryside, this motif was designed with the idea putting together each aspect of a mountain in mini geometric designs, similar to the miniature designs in men’s ties.We came up with arrows, small dots, ridges, and fine stripes to represent all the features of a mountain scene. The warm color palette adds a shaded stitching to the ensemble of the piece to give maximum depth.

OUTFIT PAIRING IDEAS

With its large fringes and geometric motifs, this scarf pairs well with a leather jacket, or a black or blue colored parka. For a more classic look, wear it with a white or cream overcoat, or with more somber tones like anthracite, chocolate, or navy blue. This very warm scarf can easily be worn together with ski outfits in bright colors, and will add a chic and elegant touch to your silhouette as you slide down the slopes.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

To wash a wool-based scarf, we advise washing by hand. Soak your scarf in a little tepid water, but be careful because wool does not endure hot water or huge temperature differences. Use a gentle detergent or one made specifically for wool. To begin the drying process, put the scarf in a towel to soak up the excess water, but do not wring it out or twist it. Lay the scarf flat to dry. It must be ironed on low heat using the vapor function to restore the wool’s volume and softness. While putting it in the dryer is absolutely out of the question, you can take it in for dry cleaning instead.

TRADITIONALLY MADE

The weaving technique used to make this scarf consists of the intertwining of silk warp threads with Merino wool weft threads following a specific pattern. To accomplish this, our weaving atelier, Fabrique de l’Écharpe uses Jacquard looms. The Jacquard loom was developed by Lyon-native Joseph Marie Jacquard in 1801, who created the first mechanical system that could be programmed with perforated cards to create a design. Thanks to our savoir-faire passed down from generation to generation since 1880, today we use electronic Jacquard looms that are digitally controlled which allow us to ensure the highest quality products while remaining in the purest tradition of Jacquard weaving.
