A very large, beautiful stole made of 100% natural Merino wool, silk, and cotton. Ideal for keeping warm in the dead of winter, this oversize stole is both soft and comfortable. The design is made up of flowers and leaf motifs, while the bordeaux red color scheme lends the ensemble a touch of elegance. Designed and woven in our atelier in Lyon on our own Jacquard looms.
INSPIRATION

For this particular piece, we wanted to honor French naïve art of the early 20th century. With a design that includes a frame almost as for a painting, this composition of flowers and leaves was drawn and colored with strong, deep hues on a red background, making for a truly unique and stylish oversize stole.

OUTFIT PAIRING IDEAS

This “shawl” style oversize stole can be word as a scarf during the coldest periods of winter together with a chestnut brown beige, or black coat. It can also be used as a large shawl, draped over your shoulders, in mid-season or with a more dressed-up look, even with a pantsuit. This elegant stole will give you a more chic, sophisticated look.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

To swash a primarily wool scarf, we advise washing by hand. Do not let it soak for too long. To dry, put the scarf in a cotton towel to soak up the excess water, but do not wring it out or twist it. Then lay the scarf flat to dry. You can restore the scarf’s softness and delicate touch by ironing on high heat with the vapor function. While putting it in the dryer is absolutely out of the question, you can take it in for dry cleaning instead.

TRADITIONALLY MADE

The weaving method used to make this scarf involves the interweaving of silk warp thread with Merino wool and cotton weft threads, utilizing a specially chosen pattern. In order to do this, the Fabrique d’Écharpe weaving atelier uses Jacquard looms. The Jacquard loom was developed by Lyon-native Joseph Marie Jacquard in 1801, who created the first mechanical system that could be programmed with perforated cards to create a design by interweaving different colored threads. Thanks to the artisan weaving knowledge transmitted to us from generation to generation since 1880, today we have electronically controlled looms that allow for the scarf to be produced with impeccable quality all while respecting the purest methods of traditional Lyon Jacquard weaving.
