CARE INSTRUCTIONS

To wash a cashmere stole, we recommend hand washing in lukewarm or cold water with a detergent specially formulated for wool. Do not soak your scarf for too long and gently squeeze out excess water in a cotton towel, without twisting the scarf. Using a low-heat iron and steam, you can iron your cashmere stole to restore its softness and flexibility. While you cannot put it in the dryer, you may take it in for dry cleaning.

TRADITIONALLY MADE

The Jacquard weaving technique used to make this scarf involves the interlacing of wool/silk warp threads with cashmere weft threads following a specific pattern. To accomplish this, the Fabrique d’écharpe weaving workshop of has its own Jacquard looms. The Jacquard loom is a loom invented by Lyon native Joseph Marie Jacquard in 1801, the first programmable mechanical system using punched cards to produce patterns by crossing colored threads together. Thanks to craftsmanship passed down through the generations since 1880, we now have electronic Jacquard looms with digital controls that guarantee the perfect quality of our fabrics while respecting the authentic Lyon tradition.
