Ultra soft and fluid scarf made of a natural and luxurious wool, silk, and cotton blend. A lace-style design based on polka dots enhanced by an elegant almond green frieze on a slightly mottled grey background. 3/4cm fringe finishes at the base and thin, neat hem along the lengths. A timeless gift made entirely in France, perfect for Christmas!
INSPIRATION

The design is inspired by the lace fabrics of Lyon. In 1805, Jean-Claude Dognin opened his silk tulle business in Lyon, then went into partnership with the Englishman Augustin Isaac, who patented a Jacquard loom that allowed lace to be made with a Bobin tulle loom. It was all the know-how of the Lyon silk industry applied to lace. Our designer has found patterns from this production and interpreted them in traditional Jacquard weaving. The semi-polka dot background is very specific to Lyon lace and a very refined frieze sits elegantly on one side of the scarf.

OUTFIT PAIRING IDEAS

This chic and elegant scarf goes with a navy, anthracite, or khaki coat or jacket for a classic style. You can wear it with a black denim ensemble to bring a touch of refinement to your look. Its charcoal grey and almond green color allows for pairings with gray, navys, beiges, and browns.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

To wash a stole made of natural material, we recommend washing by hand with a detergent suitable for wool. Don't let it soak too long. Wringing can be done in a cotton towel before laying your large stole flat if possible, or alternatively on a hanger. Ironing should be done with an iron that is not too hot and with the vapor function to maintain the volume of the natural fibers. While putting it in the dryer is prohibited, taking it to the dry cleaner’s is allowed.

TRADITIONALLY MADE

The technique of shaped fabric or Jacquard fabric used to make this scarf is the interweaving of silk warp threads and wool and cotton weft threads, following a specific pattern. To do this, the weaving workshop of “La Fabrique d’écharpe" has Jacquard looms. The Jacquard loom is a weaving loom developed by Lyon-native Joseph Marie Jacquard in 1801, the first programmable mechanical system with punched cards to produce patterns by crossing colored threads. Thanks to know-how passed down from generation to generation since 1880, we now have electronic Jacquard looms with digital controls that guarantee you the perfect quality of our fabrics while respecting the purest Lyon tradition.
